F1 Moves to Apple TV in the US: What Fans Need to Know
From the 2026 season, Apple TV is the exclusive home of Formula 1 in the United States. Every practice session, qualifying session, Sprint and Grand Prix streams on Apple TV, replacing ESPN, which held the rights before.
What is included
- All practice, qualifying, Sprint and Grand Prix sessions, live, for Apple TV subscribers in the US.
- Some races and all practice sessions free in the Apple TV app during the season, with no subscription.
- F1 TV Premium, the sport's own streaming service, now available in the US only through an Apple TV subscription, at no extra cost to subscribers.
The deal
Apple and Formula 1 signed a five-year agreement, announced during the 2025 United States Grand Prix weekend in Austin. Apple reportedly bid around $140 million to $150 million a year, compared with the roughly $85 million a year ESPN was paying.
How to watch
Subscribe to Apple TV and open the Apple TV app on an Apple device, a smart TV, a streaming stick or a web browser. Free sessions appear in the same app without a subscription.
